By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Edo Queens’ Rebecca Ajimuda is on cloud nine after scoring two goals as Moses Aduku’s team defeated Osun Babes 4-0 during match week five of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership on Wednesday.
After scoring two goals against the Omoluabi Babes hope she can score more goals to help her team win the league and end the season as the top goal scorer.
“I will like to thank God for the two goals. For the performance of my team,  we tried our best and played to coach instructions as well.” Ajimuda told pressmen after her side’s 4-0 victory.
The two goals took Ajimuda’s goal tally to three goals after opening her goal account for Benin City-based side’s match week three game against FC Robo Queens as the team edged the Lagos Landladies 1-2 in Lagos.
She added: “I see myself scoring more goals and being the highest goal scorer in the league. I will be happy about it.
“I see the team finishing at the top of the league and I believe so much in the team. I believe so much in my teammates, the coaches, and the Technical crew as well. We will win the league to represent the country at the CAF Women’s Champions League.”
Edo Queens top Group B with 12 points after five games, five points ahead of Nasarawa Amazons and Abia Angels.
Up next for Edo Queens is a clash with Abia Angels next Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
