Kabiru Dogo upbeat about Wikki Tourists’ NPFL chances despite Bayelsa United loss

Wikki Tourists’ Technical Adviser, Kabiru Dogo is not losing sleep on his side’s dismal start to the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL even after another defeat to Bayelsa United on Sunday.
Wikki Tourists have had a torrid start to the abridged season having failed record any point from three games played in Group B.
The Bauchi based club fell 2-1 to Bayelsa in Yenagoa with a brace from Mizo Robert for the hosts making Idris Guda’s goal from spot a mere consolation for Dogo side.
The club is languishing in the bottom of Group B with zero points but Dogo who has had similar experience in his previous jobs is not perturbed as he held a believe for a positive turn around for Wikki Tourists.
“I’m not happy with our present position but believe in the team because we are doing everything expected to win or get results,” Dogo told nigeriafootball.ng.
“We only need that first point to turn it around which I’m confident it will happen soon, we are creating chances, we dominated some parts of the games which is the character we desire.
“I’ve been in this situation before and I’m still believing in the team that we can become better, whether is abridged or not,” he said.
The former Nasarawa United gaffer admitted that Bayelsa United looked more hungrier and wanted the result to ease their pressure but distanced self from what he would have described as questionable officiating.
“Bayelsa did well, they came with a tactics that worked for them, I guess they were more desperate to win looking at their position.
“Its not early to question referee’s if not I would have faulted how we conceded the second goal but I will like to focus on how my team will get better and turn the season around.”
Wikki Tourists will be hosting Doma United next week in Bauchi.
