Asisat Oshoala has vowed to “keep scoring more goals” following her latest three-goal haul for Barcelona, after the Nigerian netted her third hat-trick of the season against Real Betis a week ago.
The record five-time African Footballer of the Year winner scored in her seventh consecutive game for Jonatan Giraldez’s side as the team secured a 4-0 win over Deportivo Alaves last time out.
Her three hat tricks came against Las Planas, Granadilla Tenerife, and Betis this season takes her tally to seven treble in the colour of Barcelona since joining the Spanish champions from Chinese club Dalian Quanjian in January 31, 2019.
Now, the 28-year-old former Liverpool and Arsenal striker – already in remarkable shape for her age – says that she still has new ground to cover heading forward for the Catalan side before the end of the season.
“I feel really happy and excited. Trying to get my form back. Working on myself trying to get better with each game,” she said on MTN Super Falcons Show.
“Haven scored three hat tricks this season, I hope I can keep scoring more goals for my team.”
With 18 goals in 18 league games this season, Oshoala is the Spanish Liga F’s second top goal scorer and is currently just two goals short of last season’s 20 goals which crowned her as the league’s top goal scorer.
In the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the former FC Robo Queens player has scored four goals in five games and hopes to take her goal-scoring form into the European tournament when they face AS Roma in the quarter-final.
