Egypt 2023 : TotalEnergies U20 AFCON Knockout Stages’ Regulations

As we enter right now the thrilling knockout section of the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2023, here’s a reminder of the rules.

Provisions

61.2 The quarter ultimate and semi-final matches shall be performed in accordance with the direct elimination system of the loser. An additional time of two x quarter-hour shall be performed in case of a draw after the common time of the match. If after further time that outcome remains to be not decisive, the winner shall be decided by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark

61.3 The losers of the semi-finals shall play a match for the third place. In case of a draw after the top of the common time, the winner shall be decided by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark.

61.4. The ultimate shall be performed between the winners of the semi-finals. An additional time of two x quarter-hour shall be performed in case of a draw after the common time of the match. If after further time that outcome remains to be not decisive, the winner shall be decided by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark.
