Solomon Agbalaka and Augustine Njoku make U20 AFCON Team of the Tournament

Nigeria duo of Solomon Agbalaka and Augustine Njoku made the Best XI of 2023 U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The two defenders were part of the Team of Tournament after helping Nigeria clinch a bronze medal following a 4-0 thrashing of Tunisia on Friday in Egypt.
Agbalaka who also made the group stage Best XI played all six games and scored the winning goal as Ladan Bosso’s side edged hosts Egypt 1-0 in its second group game after a 1-0 loss to Senegal in its opening Group A encounter.
The defender went on to provide an assist for Ibrahim Muhammad’s second goal as Nigeria secured a place in the quarter-final with a 2-0 win against Mozambique.
Njoku played Nigeria’s first four games against Senegal, Egypt, Mozambique, and Uganda, including clinching the man of the match award against Egypt.
The two defenders were joined by defenders, Seydou Sano (Senegal), and Alagie Saine (The Gambia) alongside Senegalese goalkeeper, Landing Badji.
The midfield comprises Pape Diop (Senegal), Lamine Camara (Senegal), and Prince Sousou (Congo).
Upfront are Adama Bojang (The Gambia), Deogracias Bassinga (Congo), and Rogers Mugisha (Uganda) with Senegalese title-winning coach, Malick Daf as the coach of the tournament.
