Benue State FA Cup final shifted to Thursday due to governorship elections

The 2023 Benue State Football Association Cup has been postponed due shift in the gubernatorial elections.
In a letter addressed to the secretary of Lobi Stars and Red Flames FC signed by Benue State Football Association Secretary General, Dr Malu Iorngulum dated March 13, 2023, the shift in date was confirmed.
The final match between the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars, and Black Flames FC of Otukpo had earlier been fixed to take place on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
Unfortunately, the gubernatorial elections initially scheduled for March 11, 2023, were postponed to March 18.
The shift in the elections led to the change in the date for Benue State FA Cup final, which will now hold on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the Mc-Carthy Stadium, Makurdi by 3:30 pm.
Lobi Stars are fan favourites to win the title and representative the state at the national finals alongside Black Flames FC. The NPFL side at the end of the first stanza of the current league season top Group B.
