Victor Osimhen surpasses George Weah’s Serie A record

Nigeriafootball.ng had earlier reported that Osimhen broke Samuel Eto’o record as the African player with the most goal in a single Serie A season while equaling Weah’s record for all-time goals.

On Sunday, the Nigerian striker netted from the spot to propel Napoli to 1-0 victory against Fiorentina, extending his goalscoring feat to 23 this season which means he has scored 47 goals in his Serie A career.

Before the encounter, the 24-year-old is already the leading top scorer with 22 goals which came in a 1-1 draw at Udinese and guarantee Napoli’s first Scudetto in 33 years.

After consecutive draws, the Partenopei return to winning ways and once again they have Nigerian to thank.
