2023 Federation Cup Rd of 16 Wrap: Insurance, Kwara, Warri, Plateau, Doma reach last-8

Six out of eight rounds of 16 games of the 2023 Federation Cup were concluded on Wednesday with five top-flight Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) teams qualifying for the quarter-final.
Samad Kadiri’s 52nd-minute goal for Kwara United eliminated Nasarawa United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
On the same ground, another Nigeria Premier Football League side, Sunshine Stars dug deep to edge Nigeria National League club EFCC FC 3-2.
Warri Wolves also made it to the last eight as the only team out of the top flight after a 1-0 win over Gombe United.
Plateau United pipped Ingas FC 2-1 while Doma United secured a 2-1 win against Edel FC.
Bendel Insurance also defeated Heartland FC 1-0.
The game between Rangers International and FC Ebedei was halted due to weather conditions and will be completed on Thursday with Rangers leading 3-1.
Lobi Stars were leading Bendel Insurance Feeders 2-1 before the game was also halted and will be concluded on Friday.
