Bayelsa face Edo as Nasarawa tackle Rivers in 2023 Women’s Federation Cup semis

The Nigeria Football Federation have set Friday May 26 as the date for the semifinal of the Women’s Federation Cup games.
Defending champions, Bayelsa Queens will take on Edo Queens at the Awka Stadium, Anambra. While Nasarawa Amazons will lock horns with Rivers Angels at the Akure Township Stadium, Akure.
Bayelsa had defeated Fortress Ladies to seal the semifinal spot, while Edo Queens ended Lakeside Queens fairytale run.
Elsewhere, Nasarawa Amazons went through the wire to scale through to the semifinal as they defeated Robo Queens 5-3 in penalty shootout after playing a 1-1 at regulation time.
Rivers Angels showed their experience as they knocked out Delta Queens 3-1 through penalty shootout.
The meeting between Bayelsa and Edo will be the first time both sides will be facing each other since Moses Aduku stunned the Prosperity Girls by dumping them after delivering the league title before teaming up with the Benin side.
The game will be a keenly contested tie as the two clubs are favourites considering the array of talents at their disposal.
Nasarawa Amazons with their cagey style of play will face a refurbished Rivers Angels in Akure in a game that could go either way. Both sides boast of experienced players in their ranks and they deserved to be in the final.
The Pride of Port-Harcourt will be banking on their rediscovered form after starting the season poorly, while the Solid Babes will depend on their compact style of play to get the job done for them in Akure.
