Spanish Liga F side, Real Betis has parted ways with Nigeria-eligible forward, Rinsola Babajide.
In a statement, the Spanish club announced the exit of Babajide along with five other ahead of next season.
Beside the British-Nigerian, Lucía León, Victoria Benítez ‘Vicky’, Matilde Fidalgo, Leire Peña, Ode Fulutudilu, are also leaving the club with their contracts expiring on June 30, as well as Laura Moreno, Ángela Sosa, and Laurina.
Babajide joined Betis in January 2022 as a free agent from English Women’s Super League (WSL) side, Brighton & Hove Albion and helped the team escape relegation with six goals and an assist in 26 games.
Her impactful brief stint saw her voted Real Betis Player of the Season at the end of the 2022/2023 season.
Despite her exit, Nigeriafootball.ng, exclusively gathered that the 25-year-old has no plans to return to England just yet as she is likely to spend another season in Spanish football after her exciting debut campaign.
Before her move to Spain, she was on loan at Brighton from July 2021 to January 2022 before switching to Betis where she scored ten goals in 41 games for the Spanish side.
The former Liverpool star also played for London City Lionesses from 2015 to 2017 scoring two goals in six games before switching to Watford where she scored a goal in ten games from February 2017 to January 2018.
At Liverpool, Babajide had her best performance with 15 goals in 53 games from January 2018 to June 2021.
She has represented England at age grade level but is eligible to play for Nigeria at the senior level.
