Nigerian defender, Igoh Ogbu was one of the goal scorers as his Czech Republic side, Slavia Prague thrashed Sheriff Tiraspol 6-0 in the UEFA Europe League group game on Thursday.
It took just four minutes for the hosts to open the scoring courtesy of Mojmir Chytil.
Three minutes later, Ogbu headed Lukas Masopust’s free kick past Maksym Koval into the bottom right corner to double the lead.
In the 39th minute, Munashe Garananga scored an unlucky own goal as he deflected a shot into his net.
Two minutes into the second half, David Doudera put the ball across the area and Ivan Schranz had the easiest task in the world to tuck the ball into an empty net for the host’s fourth goal.
Doudera tapped home from close range in the 58th minute after a rebound fell into his path for the fifth goal.
In the 71st minute, Tomas Holes played a lovely pass into the box and found Chytil who tried his luck from close range and coolly struck the ball into the back of the net to make it 6-0.
Ogbu played the full 90 minutes for his team while Boluwatife Ogungbayi replaced Conrad Wallem in the 66th minute.
Muhamed Tijani was an unused substitute for Slavia Prague.
For Sheriff Tiraspol, Peter Ademo saw 46 minutes of action and was replaced by Berkay Vadar while David Ankeye came on for Ricardinho in the 56th minute.
The result moved Slavia Prague to the top of Group G with a maximum of six points after two games on superior goal advantage ahead of their next opponent, AS Roma.
