Ado Den Haag, a prominent club in the Dutch Eredivisie, is actively preparing for the imminent departure of Nigerian right-back Tyronne Ebuehi and is determined to secure a fitting replacement for the upcoming season, as reported by Completesportsnigeria.com.
According to Dutch outlet Omroepwest.nl, Den Haag’s manager, Alfons Groenendijk, has set his sights on Khalid Karami from Excelsior FC as the primary candidate to fill the void left by Ebuehi. The latter recently finalized a five-year contract with Benfica after declining to extend his tenure with Ado Den Haag.
Karami, currently at Excelsior FC, is set to become a free agent as his contract expires in the summer. Groenendijk appears keen on recruiting the 28-year-old defender to bolster the defensive lineup of the Green and Yellow squad. Karami began his professional career in 2011 with Go Ahead Eagles before moving to Excelsior.
Ebuehi’s departure marks a significant loss for Ado Den Haag. The 22-year-old right-back contributed significantly to the team, featuring in 27 matches this season and delivering two assists. His dynamic style of play, characterized by precise tackles and impactful runs down the flanks, earned him a notable call-up to the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national team.
While Ebuehi remains an available option for Nigeria’s 22-man World Cup squad, uncertainties loom over his future with Benfica post the tournament, leaving fans and management eagerly watching the outcome of his venture with the Portuguese side. As the summer approaches, Ado Den Haag remains committed to securing a formidable replacement to continue their pursuit of success in the Eredivisie.
