CAF CC: Kingsley Eduwo’s brace helps Club Africain condemn Rivers United to defeat

Former Lobi Stars player, Kingsley Eduwo scored two goals in the first half to help Tunisian side, Club Africain to a 3-0 win over Rivers United in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
Eduwo broke the deadlock in the sixth minute and added the second on the dot of 45 minutes.
Rami Bedoui completed the rout for the Tunisian side in the 62nd minute.
The loss was Rivers United’s second in the group stage of the 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-1 loss to Dreams in Kumasi, Ghana.
Dreams’ 4-0 win against Academica ensured that the Nigeria side dropped to the third position with three points after four games.
Club Africain tops the log with nine points same as Dreams.
Rivers United will have to beat Dreams at home and also record a win against Academica in their last two group games to have the chance of qualifying for the quarter-final.
The team reached the quarter-final stage of the competition last season and remained Nigeria’s sole representative on the continent.
Enyimba FC, Remo Stars, and Bendel Insurance crashed out of the CAF Interclub competition before the group stage.
