CAF CL: Uganda referee to officiate Remo Stars vs AS FAR clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a Uganda referee to be in charge of Sunday’s CAF Champions League Preliminary Round first leg between Remo Stars and the Moroccan side AS FAR.

The football body announced Uganda’s Mashood Ssali as the center referee for the game.

The match is scheduled to take at the Remo Stars stadium in Ikenne on August 18, 2024.

The Sky Blue Stars finished second at the end of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season which ensured their qualification for the CAF Champions League.

The feat will be the third consecutive season that the Ikenne-Remo-based side will qualify for continental football but has bowed out at the first hurdle on two occasions.

The meeting with AS FAR FC will be the second time both sides will be facing each other.

The first and last meeting two seasons ago ended 2-1 on aggregate in favor of the Moroccan side two seasons ago.
