Galatasaray Icon Declares Osimhen as the Season’s Best Player

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Tanju Çolak, a legendary figure in Galatasaray’s history, has named Victor Osimhen the best player of the season in Turkey.

Osimhen has showcased exceptional performance, netting 28 goals and contributing five assists in 32 matches across all competitions for the Turkish club.

The Nigerian forward has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s success, currently leading the domestic league standings.

Additionally, the 26-year-old scored twice in the 2-1 victory against Fenerbahce during the Turkish Cup quarter-finals.

Çolak, who played for Galatasaray from 1987 to 1991 and scored 116 goals in 124 appearances, noted that Osimhen has earned the respect and loyalty of his teammates.

“There is a team at Galatasaray that stands by Osimhen. He exemplifies dedication and consistently finds the back of the net. Osimhen is undoubtedly the best player of the season,” Çolak stated, as reported by habersarikirmizi.

In contrast, Çolak expressed disappointment with Alvaro Morata, who transferred to Galatasaray from AC Milan in January.

“Morata fails to score and lacks effort. If it were up to me, I would not have signed him,” Çolak remarked.

Osimhen’s outstanding performances have drawn interest from several top European clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and PSG.

It remains uncertain where he will be playing next summer, but it is highly likely that it will not be with Napoli.
