OFFICIAL: Christy Ucheibe joins Asisat Oshoala at Al Hilal After SL Benfica exit
Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe has joined Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal Women, where she will team up with compatriot and fellow Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala.
Ucheibe arrives at Al Hilal following a successful spell with Portuguese giants SL Benfica, where she established herself as an important member of the team and gained valuable experience competing at the highest level of European women’s football.
The Nigerian midfielder arrived at the Saudi club a week ago but had to complete the necessary routine medical and fitness examinations before her unveiling was finalised.
She was officially unveiled by Al Hilal after successfully completing all the required medical and fitness tests, paving the way for her to begin a new chapter of her career in Saudi Arabia.
The move sees Ucheibe reunite with Oshoala, who is already an established figure at Al Hilal following her move to the Saudi club.
The transfer further strengthens the Nigerian presence at Al Hilal and gives the Saudi club two of Nigeria’s leading internationals as it continues to develop its women’s football project.
Ucheibe’s spell at Benfica marked an important phase in her career, with the midfielder gaining valuable experience in domestic and European competition and further establishing herself as a key member of the Super Falcons.
Her move to Saudi Arabia offers another opportunity to continue her development and compete in an increasingly ambitious women’s football environment.
