Nigeria striker, Gift Orban has been nominated for the Europa Conference League Player of the Week for Matchday 4 of the competition.

The 21-year-old Orban scored three goals in Gent’s 3-2 victory over Breiðablik which has pushed the Buffalos within the reach of second round qualification.

Orban who is still waiting for his debut outing with Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be jostling for the same prize with Jason Svanþórsson of Breiðablik, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Dor Peretz and Faris Moumbagna of Bodø/Glimt who scored twice respectively in their games.

Orban’s latest hat-trick was his third in the Europa Conference League and has now scored nine goals in nine games which is an average of a goal per game in the competition.

He is jointly leading the competition scorers’ chart this campaign after four round of games and might also used his performance to regain his starting berth in Gent’s team after being frozen out for some weeks.
