Kabiru Dogo fulfills long time dream with landing Kwara United top job

Newly unveiled Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Kabir Dogo has expressed delight to fulfill his long term dream of landing the job of leading his home state club.
Dogo was unveiled at the club’s secretariat in Ilorin on Tuesday and was primarily tasked with the responsibility of stabilizing the team in the ongoing 2022/2023 Abridged Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The former ABS FC, Nasarawa United, Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars and Wikki Tourists gaffer admitted that accepting the job of Kwara United was more of a service to his community and state.
“I thank the state government, the management and Kwarans for the opportunity offered me to serve my state,” Dogo told media.
“It’s a long time dream. It’s the dream of any coach to handle a club from his state, and with Kwara United FC that is a big brand, I am happy to e be part of its history.
“I have worked here before, but with a different club. It’s the same terrain, but with a different challenge.
“I am not promising anything beyond achieving stability, especially on the backdrop of the current placement of the club on the table. I assure you all that the club will progress, with the support of all.”
Club’s general manager, Bashir Badawiy said that the management has confidence in Dogo to deliver, stressing that they club engaged him to sustain the huge standard already set by the club, especially in the last three seasons.
“Coach Dogo is a disciplinarian, and we know he can do it, and that was why we settled for him,” Badawiy told media.
“We already set a standard, which includes, but not limited to qualifying for the continental competition, and we want the coach that can sustain that record.
“Playing away from home makes the season more difficult. The fans factor is very important. It’s a terrible thing playing away from home, especially spending more, but I want to assure you that Kwara United will be battle ready for the second round.”
