Mobi Oparaku backs Victor Osimhen for switch to money-spinning Saudi Arabia over England

By Monsurah Olatunji

Former Nigerian international Mobi Oparaku has advised Victor Osimhen to seriously consider a move to Saudi Arabia amidst growing transfer speculation surrounding the Napoli striker.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen has continued to impress with his goal-scoring form, attracting interest from several top European clubs.

Before his move to the Turkish side, Osimhen had signed a new contract with Napoli in December 2023, with plans to leave the club six months later if a team met his €120 million release clause.

However, despite interest from Chelsea and Saudi Pro League clubs, no offers came close to matching that figure, resulting in Osimhen’s loan move to Galatasaray in September 2024.

He has since been linked with several prominent European clubs, including Manchester United, Juventus, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Oparaku, however, believes Osimhen should give serious thought to the lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, as the Saudi Pro League continues to attract big names.

“I see even young players making big moves, and Osimhen was denied that opportunity to make his choice,” Oparaku said in an interview with Brila FM.

“Personally, I would have taken Osimhen to Saudi Arabia myself, if he were my brother.”

Oparaku’s suggestion aligns with the growing trend of high-profile players moving to Saudi Arabia, where financial incentives are substantial.

While the final decision rests with Osimhen, Oparaku’s comments suggest that a move to the Saudi Pro League could be a viable option for the 26-year-old striker.
