Nigeria’s Victor Moses played a full 90 minutes and performed well for Chelsea in their 2-0 victory over Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. The win secures Chelsea a spot in the FA Cup final, where they will face Manchester United on May 19.
Chelsea dominated the first half but failed to convert chances into goals, hitting the crossbar twice. However, the breakthrough came in the 48th minute when Olivier Giroud scored after navigating through three defenders. This marked Giroud’s 15th goal in the competition.
Despite a strong effort from Southampton, Chelsea’s goalkeeper Willy Caballero made crucial saves, and Charlie Austin’s attempt to equalize hit the upright.
Alvaro Morata came on for Giroud in the 80th minute and secured Chelsea’s victory by heading in a cross from Cesar Azpilicueta in the 82nd minute. Morata missed a couple of additional chances, but Chelsea held on to secure their place in the FA Cup final.
