Nigerian striker Elijah Ani has been shortlisted for the Rwanda Premier League Player of the Season award.

The Bugesera forward emerged as the top scorer in the recently concluded league season, netting 15 goals in 27 appearances, which played a crucial role in helping his club avoid relegation.

Ani also led Bugesera to the final of the Peace Cup, although they ultimately lost to Police FC. His impressive performances have earned him a spot among the top contenders for the prestigious award.

Other players in contention for the award include APR’s Jean Bosco Ruboneka and Rayon Sports star Kevin Muhire. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Serena Hotel in Kigali on Saturday, June 15.

Before his successful stint in Rwanda, Ani played for Enyimba FC and Shooting Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
