KRC Genk forward Tolu Arokodare is setting his sights high as he aims for the Belgian Pro League title, expressing his belief that his side can finish as champions at the end of the season.
The Nigeria international has been in stellar form, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in just 13 appearances so far this campaign.
Arokodare is confident that if his team maintains their current momentum, they can achieve their ambition of winning the league, but he has urged his teammates to stay focused and avoid any complacency.
“If we can continue to win matches like this, then of course we want to become champions, but that is still far too early to say. We just have to remain disciplined now,” Arokodare told Complete Sports.
“We were all fantastic (vs Antwerp). From the goalkeeper to the players on the bench and the coaches.”
KRC Genk currently lead the Belgian Pro League with 31 points from 13 matches, showcasing strong form as they push for their first league title in several years. Their next test comes on Sunday, November 10, when they face Union Saint-Gilloise at the Stade Joseph Marien.
Arokodare’s individual contributions have been crucial to Genk’s strong start to the season, but his team-first mentality is evident as he praises the collective effort of the squad.
With the league still wide open, the Nigerian forward’s focus is on maintaining discipline, staying grounded, and keeping the team’s eyes on the ultimate prize—Belgian football’s top honor.
As the season unfolds, Genk will be counting on Arokodare’s goals and leadership to continue driving their title challenge.
