NPFL: Shooting Stars seek first away points against unbeaten Ikorodu City

Shooting Stars Sports Club will attempt to end their winless away run when they visit Ikorodu City in week 10 of the Nigeria Premier Football League on Sunday.
The Oluyole Warriors secured a much-needed victory in their previous match, beating Ranchers Bees 3-1 at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. That result ended a five-game run without a win and lifted 3SC out of the relegation zone.
However, their performances away from home remain a concern. They have lost each of their four away matches this season, scoring three goals and conceding 10.
Their next assignment is particularly demanding, with Ikorodu City having established an impressive record at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. The hosts have won three and drawn one of their four home fixtures.
The recent head-to-head record also gives Ikorodu City reason for confidence. They are unbeaten in the last four meetings between the clubs, recording two wins in Lagos and two draws in Ibadan.
For 3SC, the contest offers an opportunity to show that their home success against Ranchers Bees marked a genuine change in form rather than an isolated result. The coaching staff will be looking for the determination displayed in Ibadan to be reproduced on the road.
A point in Lagos would be Shooting Stars’ first away return of the campaign, while a victory would provide an even greater boost as they look to build on their 3-1 success and move further away from danger.
The match also represents a chance for 3SC to demonstrate that their five-match winless spell has been put behind them and to give their season fresh momentum.
