Official: Nigeria Youth International Emmanuel Michael Joins Admira Wacker on Loan

Austrian Bundesliga champions LASK have confirmed that Nigeria youth international Emmanuel Michael will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at Austrian second-tier side Admira Wacker.
The announcement was made in a statement on LASK’s official website as the club continues the development of the highly rated Nigerian left-back through regular first-team football.
Michael joins Admira Wacker after the Vienna-based club identified the left-back position as a priority ahead of the new campaign.
The Austrian outfit had recently invited former Shooting Stars defender Victor Ehibe for a trial, but Michael’s arrival is expected to strengthen competition for places in the squad. It remains unclear whether Ehibe will still be offered a contract.
The 20-year-old moved to LASK in January 2025 and has since made 15 appearances across all competitions, including five outings for the club’s reserve side, LASK Amateure OÖ.
With opportunities in the senior team expected to be limited this season, the loan move is designed to provide Michael with valuable playing time and accelerate his development in competitive football.
Before moving to Europe, the defender came through the ranks at Simoiben Football Academy and later featured for Nigeria Premier Football League side Gombe United.
Michael also represented Nigeria at the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, where he started all four matches for the Golden Eaglets and impressed with his energy, defensive discipline and attacking contributions from left-back.
The season-long spell at Admira Wacker presents another important step in his development as he seeks to establish himself in Austrian football and continue his progress toward senior international recognition with Nigeria.
