Vivian Ikechukwu complete switch to Mexican Club

Former Abia Angels forward Vivian Ikechukwu has completed her switch to Mexican women’s league side, Cruz Azul.

She joined Cruz Azul from Turkish top flight side, Besiktas.

The forward started her career Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership outfit, Abia Angels and joined fellow league side, Rivers Angels in 2018.

With the Jewel of Rivers, Ikechukwu won two league titles in 2019 and 2020/2021 season which qualified the Port Harcourt based side for the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League.

She was part of Rivers Angels side that participated at the first-ever CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021 after winning the President Federation Cup with the same Club in 2018.

From Rivers Angels, Ikechukwu started her European sojourn in Lithuania with FC Gintra where she played the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) during the 2022/2023 season.

Last season, she played for Turkish side, Besiktas in the women’s top flight where she scored eight league goals.

She is joining Pachuca duo, Osinachi Ohale and Chinwendu Ihezuo in the Mexican women’s top flight league.
