Victor Osimhen returns to Napoli training after AFCON 2023 sojourn with Nigeria

Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen has returned to Napoli training after his Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) sojourn.

The Super Eagles striker managed to score one goal in seven appearances at the Africa continental showpiece as Nigeria finished in second place behind host nation, Ivory Coast.

Napoli announced the return of Osimhen to club training with personalized recovery on the pitch which is expected to continue.

“Victor Osimhen returned from commitments with his national team and carried out personalized recovery work on the pitch, work which will continue tomorrow,” Quoted by Napoli.

The 25 year old will however miss the weekend’s clash with Genoa.

Osimhen arrived Napoli on Thursday, days after attending the presidential hosting of the Super Eagles in Abuja.

The prolific forward has returned to club duties after having a torrid AFCON where he could only find the back of the net once amidst his goals chalked off due to VAR review.
