Flamingos Thrash Solo Wonder Babes 7–0 in World Cup Qualifier Preparations

Nigeria’s U17 girls, the Flamingos, continued their impressive build-up to the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Guinea with a commanding 7–0 victory over Solo Wonder Babes.

The Flamingos produced a dominant attacking display and went into halftime with a comfortable 3–0 advantage after goals from Mary Dunstan and Queen Joseph.

Mary Dunstan opened the scoring in the 35th minute before adding her second goal six minutes later. Queen Joseph then found the net in the 42nd minute to give the Flamingos full control before the break.

The second half brought even more attacking intensity from the Nigerian side. Patra converted from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute, while Ebube added another goal just a minute later. Wuraola Olayiwola got on the scoresheet in the 77th minute before Mmesoma wrapped up the emphatic victory with a late strike in the 86th minute.

Meanwhile, the Flamingos are set to continue preparations ahead of the Guinea clash, with the team scheduled to depart for Ikenne on Sunday, 10th May 2026.
