Following a disappointing draw against Bayelsa United in their recent Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture, Eugene Agagbe, the Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars, remains upbeat about his team’s chances of clinching the league title.
The encounter saw the Yes Father Boys being held to a 1-1 draw by Bayelsa United in Lafia during Matchday 27 of the league. The dropped points caused Lobi Stars to relinquish their top spot to Enugu Rangers, who secured a victory against Heartland on the same day.
Despite the setback, Agagbe expressed confidence in his team’s ability to bounce back and achieve success in the league. He acknowledged the need to address the errors observed in the match before their next fixture.
“While I am disappointed with the result, I understand that setbacks are part of the game,” stated Agagbe. “Bayelsa United came prepared to avoid another defeat after our previous encounter. However, we lost focus at a critical moment and conceded a goal.”
Agagbe emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes and remaining focused on the team’s objectives. He assured fans and stakeholders that necessary corrections would be made to improve the team’s performance in upcoming matches.
“We will analyze our performance and work on rectifying the errors before our next match,” Agagbe affirmed. “It’s crucial to maintain a positive attitude and trust in the capabilities of our players. They have shown resilience in the past and will deliver good results in the future.”
Lobi Stars are set to face Sporting Lagos in their next fixture, and Agagbe is determined to lead his team to victory. The trip to Lagos presents another opportunity for Lobi Stars to demonstrate their championship credentials and reclaim their position at the top of the NPFL standings.
With unwavering commitment and strategic planning, Agagbe believes Lobi Stars can overcome challenges and contend for the coveted NPFL title.
