Akwa United has announced the recruitment of Mohammed BabaGanaru as the team’s Technical Adviser until the culmination of the current Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The club’s chairman, Elder Paul Etubong Bassey, officially confirmed BabaGanaru’s appointment, expressing his satisfaction with the decision. He highlighted the coach’s extensive experience and expressed optimism about his ability to enhance the team’s performance.

“After the departure of Coach Fatai Osho, we took our time to find a suitable replacement because we aimed to secure one of the best candidates available. When Coach Babaganaru became available after leaving Gombe United, we seized the opportunity to bring him on board,” said Elder Bassey.

Acknowledging the challenging task ahead, Bassey extended gratitude to Coach Umar Abdullahi and his staff for their efforts during a challenging period, noting the positive results that have begun to emerge.

Underlining the recent improvement in Akwa United’s performance, the club has garnered four points from their last two matches against Gombe United and Plateau United. The appointment of BabaGanaru is expected to capitalize on this momentum.

In a message directed to the players, Bassey commended their dedication and determination, urging them to continue their efforts to elevate Akwa United to its rightful position in Nigerian football. He also called upon the club’s supporters to remain steadfast in their backing of the team.

Coach Mohammed BabaGanaru brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously achieved success with various clubs in the NPFL, including winning the title with Kano Pillars. His past coaching stints include Nasarawa United, Wikki Tourists, Lobi Stars, and El-kanemi Warriors.
