Ex-international Judith Chime rewards NWFL Premiership goalkeepers

Former Nigeria goalkeeper, Judith Chime has fulfilled her promises of rewarding and motivating the best goalkeepers in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership at the end of an entertaining 2023/2024 season.

In this respect, Confluence Queens save hands, Sylvia Echefu won was voted the goalkeeper of the season at the Naija Women’s Football League Awards was gifted a cash prize of 150,000 Naira.

She also got goalkeeper gloves and, a branded t-shirt with her name written on it courtesy of the Judith Chime Foundation. The Goalkeeper Coach of the Season was won by Coach Emmanuel also of Confluence Queens. He was gifted with a cash prize of N50,000.

All the six goalkeepers who participated in NWFL Super 6 were gifted with a cash prize of N15,000 each.

Judith who was popularly called “Kamala” during her playing days, was awarding N10,000 every week for the Goalkeeper of the Week in the NWFL.

Speaking on this, Judith said her motive is just to encourage the goalkeepers to always put in their best. She said this is her little way of supporting the Board of the Nigeria Women’s Football League for their efforts in sustaining the legacy of the Nigeria Women’s Football League all these years.

Her foundation has organised the Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup (ICMC) for two years since 2022 to discover young talents that will go on to represent Nigeria at U-17 and U-20 levels in memory of her late teammate.
