Nigerian striker Josh Maja played a key role in West Brom’s 2-1 victory over Hull City on Sunday, scoring one of the goals to help the Baggies secure the three points.

Maja, featuring in his 15th league game for West Brom, played just under an hour in the encounter.

The visitors took an early lead in the 12th minute when Karlan Grant fired home from inside the box.

Maja doubled West Brom’s advantage five minutes later, pouncing on a header from Darnell Furlong to scramble the ball over the line from close range.

Hull City pulled one back just before halftime through Joao Pedro, who reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 40th minute.

Maja, who has now scored nine league goals for West Brom this season, was substituted in the 54th minute for Grady Diangana.
