Former Nigeria international Mikel John Obi has expressed confidence that Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold will make a summer move to Real Madrid.
The England fullback’s contract with Liverpool is set to expire at the end of the season, with the Spanish giants leading the race for his signature.
Mikel, speaking on the Obi One Podcast, lauded the 26-year-old right-back, describing him as an exceptional talent who has given his all to Liverpool.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold is absolutely fantastic. He has been brilliant for Liverpool. I know there’s talk about the contract, if he’s staying or not, or if he’s going to join his mate Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid,” Mikel said.
He added, “No disrespect to Liverpool. Liverpool is a giant of a football club, but Real Madrid is Real Madrid.”
The former Chelsea midfielder believes that a potential move to Madrid is a natural fit for Alexander-Arnold, stating, “When you look at Trent, he oozes Real Madrid. I see him going to Real Madrid. I don’t see him renewing. Out of the three, I think he’s probably the one that will walk come the end of the season.”
