Jennifer Echegini scores for PSG against Nantes to seal place in Coupe de France quarterfinals

Nigeria’s Jennifer Echegini scored a goal to help French Premiere Ligue side PSG to a 6-1 thrashing of Nantes in the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France women on Friday.

Manssita Traore gave PSG an early lead in the ninth minute at the Stade Marcel Saupin, Nantes.

Echegini increased the lead with a right footed shot inside the box after receiving a pass in he 15th minute.

Daniella Marcano pulled a goal back for the host in the half hour mark but that spur the visitors to score more goals.

Three minutes into the second half, Tara Elimbi restored the Parisien two goal lead before Korbin Albert increased the advantage in the 51st minute.

10 minutes later Romee Leuchter scored the sixth goal of the encounter and completed her hat trick in the 89th minute.

Echegini played the duration of the match for PSG as her side qualified for the quarter final of the Coupe de France.

Her compatriot, Chinaza Uchendu was introduced in the 62nd minute in place of Maureen Cosson as her team bowed out of the tournament.

PSG returned to winning ways after a 2-0 loss to league leaders and defending champions, Lyon last week.

They will face Strasbourg in their next league match.
