Rasheedat Ajibade shares humble beginnings at MFM Prayer City

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team captain Rasheedat Ajibade has opened up about her remarkable journey from street vendor to continental champion, sharing her testimony at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) during the August edition of the Power Must Change Hands programme on Saturday.

Ajibade, who recently led Super Falcons to a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, told the congregation that she once hawked olive oil, kunu, and zobo drinks around the church’s Prayer City in Ogun State during deliverance programs.

“I was once one of those young girls hawking olive oil, kunu, and zobo drinks during most of the deliverance programmes,” she recalled.

“But today, I give glory to God.”

Ajibade emphasized the importance of faith and hard work in her journey to stardom, stating that she continues to rely on prayer whenever faced with challenges in her career.

“Whenever things are tough at my club or with the national team, I pray,” she said.

“I do my part through hard work but never forget to seek God’s help.”

Ajibade’s testimony drew cheers and applause from the congregation, many of whom saw her story as a source of hope and encouragement for aspiring young girls across Nigeria.
