OFFICIAL: Nottingham Forest announce Emmanuel Dennis departure

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the departure of Emmanuel Dennis following a mutual contract termination, leaving the Nigerian forward as a free agent.

The Super Eagles international joined Forest in August 2022 from Watford for a reported £10 million, but struggled to make an impact during his time at the City Ground. He made just 25 appearances for the Reds before embarking on multiple loan spells.

Dennis spent time at İstanbul Başakşehir and Watford during the 2023/24 campaign, before joining Blackburn Rovers on loan for the second half of the 2024/25 season.

The club announced his exit via an official statement: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the Club following the mutual termination of his contract.

“Dennis joined Forest from Watford in August 2022 and went on to make 25 appearances for the Reds.

“The 27-year-old spent time on loan at İstanbul Başakşehir and Watford during the 2023/24 season, before moving to Blackburn Rovers for the second half of the 2024/25 campaign. We wish Emmanuel well for the future.”

The 27-year-old forward reportedly has offers from Italy and Turkey, and with his contract already terminated, he is free to join any club as he looks to reignite his career.
