Galatasaray dispatch private jet for injured Victor Osimhen

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Galatasaray have underlined their commitment to star forward Victor Osimhen by sending a private jet to Nigeria following his injury in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

The Nigeria striker was forced off during Saturday’s clash at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo after sustaining a shin injury.

Initial checks by Nigeria’s medical team confirmed the knock, sparking concerns over his availability for club and country.

In response, the Turkish champions swiftly arranged for a private plane to transport Osimhen directly from Nigeria to Istanbul.

He is expected to arrive today, where he will undergo a comprehensive medical assessment to determine the severity of the injury and a potential recovery timeline.

Osimhen, who arrived in Istanbul this summer in a high-profile transfer, has quickly become central to Galatasaray’s domestic and continental ambitions.

His injury scare has therefore caused significant anxiety among fans and officials alike.

Club sources revealed that the decision to provide a private flight was to ensure Osimhen received the best possible care while avoiding the stress and delays associated with commercial travel.

The results of the medical tests in Istanbul will decide whether the Nigerian international faces only a short spell on the sidelines or a longer absence.

Until then, both Super Eagles supporters and Galatasaray fans remain on edge, awaiting clarity on the fitness of their talisman.
