Bankole Kayode bids emotional farewell to Remo Stars After TS Galaxy switch

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Goalkeeper Bankole Kayode has issued a heartfelt farewell to Remo Stars after completing a transfer to South African Premier Division club TS Galaxy, marking the end of a defining chapter in his career.

The 25-year-old played a crucial role in Remo Stars’ historic Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title triumph— the club’s first-ever top-flight championship—cementing his status as one of the league’s standout performers.

In a farewell message shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Kayode reflected on his five-year journey with the Ikenne-based side, describing it as a period of personal and professional growth.

“I never thought a day like this would come, but every beautiful story has an ending. My time at Remo Stars has been nothing short of memorable,” he wrote.

“Together, we celebrated victories, endured draws, and learned from defeats. I am deeply grateful to the President of the club, the management, the coaching crew, my teammates, and the incredible fans for giving me the privilege of wearing the Sky Blue colours.”

Kayode’s departure signals the end of an era at Remo Stars, as he joins a growing list of key players exiting the club following their landmark NPFL campaign.

“After five unforgettable seasons, I announce my departure from the club. I wish Remo Stars continued success in all their future endeavors. No matter where I go, I will always remain a proud Sky Blue Warrior.”

Now headed to TS Galaxy, Kayode is set to embark on a new challenge in South Africa, with hopes of testing himself at a higher level and expanding his international profile.

The move represents a significant step in his career, as he joins a competitive league known for developing top African talent.

Remo Stars have yet to announce a replacement, but the departure of one of their most trusted figures between the posts marks a notable transition as the club prepares to defend its title in the upcoming NPFL season.
