Super Lig: Paul Onuachu eager to end goal drought against Galatasaray

By Wale Mustapha

Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu is determined to get back on the scoresheet when Trabzonspor face Galatasaray in a top-of-the-table Turkish Super Lig clash this weekend.

Trabzonspor travel to Rams Park on Saturday hoping to sustain their title challenge against the reigning champions, with Onuachu once again expected to lead the line for the visitors.

The Super Eagles forward has been in impressive form this season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in 10 appearances, making him one of the league’s top performers.

His goals have been crucial in keeping Trabzonspor within reach of the summit.

Despite finding the net against several major clubs — including Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, and Sivasspor — the 31-year-old is yet to score against Galatasaray, a record he hopes to change this weekend.

“Scoring against Galatasaray would be a special moment in my career,” Onuachu told Kuzey Ekspres.

“That will not be prioritized over giving my best to make sure we get a good result, which is more important for all of us in the team.”

Onuachu’s performance will be pivotal as Trabzonspor look to claim a crucial result and keep their title ambitions alive.
