NBSL Organises Sponsorship Training to Help Clubs Attract Partners

The Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) has organised a three-day sponsorship training programme aimed at helping participating clubs attract partners and operate in a more professional and business-oriented manner.

The virtual course, held from March 3 to March 5, was designed to equip clubs with the knowledge and tools needed to secure sponsorship deals ahead of the new season.

The training was facilitated by consultant Chidi Myles of Home of Ballers, who led the sessions throughout the programme.

The first day focused on the psychology of sponsorship, helping clubs understand what potential sponsors look for and how modern sports partnerships are structured.

On day two, participants were introduced to practical strategies for attracting sponsors, including how to develop structured and compelling sponsorship proposals.

The final day featured an analysis of a sample sponsorship proposal, with participants receiving guidance on effective approaches to negotiating and securing sponsorship deals.

At the end of the programme, a sponsorship proposal framework was presented to participants, who welcomed the initiative with enthusiasm as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, the league has also announced plans to organise refresher courses for coaches and referees ahead of the new campaign.

The three-day programme will include analysis of recent changes to the Laws of the Game and a review of the 2025 and 2026 beach soccer law amendments, to be delivered by retired FIFA beach soccer referee Abduljelili Ogunmuyiwa.

In addition, a one-day virtual refresher course for coaches will be led by the head coach of the Nigeria National Beach Soccer Team, Abdullahi Isa. The session will focus on key tactical areas such as attacking principles, defensive organisation, ball control, transition play, finishing, and set-piece execution.

The refresher courses will run from Friday to Sunday this week, before a physical clinic in Kebbi State ahead of the league’s season kick-off.
