Ex-Nigeria Defender Backs Arsenal to Beat PSG in Champions League Final

Former Nigeria international Taju Disu has tipped Arsenal F.C. to overcome Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final, describing a potential triumph as “a long time coming” for the North London club.

Arsenal head into the final seeking their first-ever Champions League title and their first appearance in the competition’s showpiece match since losing to FC Barcelona in 2006.

The Gunners have enjoyed a remarkable European campaign, remaining unbeaten while overcoming top sides including FC Bayern Munich, FC Internazionale Milano, Sporting CP and Atlético de Madrid.

Speaking ahead of the final, Disu expressed hope that Arsenal can finally end their long wait for European glory.

“I hope Arsenal will win it this time because they have been in the final before and lost. It’s been a long time coming.

“I wish them the very best of luck. It’s not going to be an easy match because PSG are a great side and defending champions, but if Arsenal can get their tactics right, they can win.”

The final pits the newly crowned English champions against a PSG side looking to defend the European crown they claimed with a dominant victory over Inter Milan in last season’s final.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping to cap a historic season, while stars such as Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze could play key roles in the club’s quest for continental success.

The final will take place at Puskás Aréna, with Arsenal aiming to make history by lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time.
