Olakunle Olusegun: Nigeria winger joins Rostov from Krasnodar in €450k deal

Nigeria winger Olakunle Olusegun has joined FC Rostov from Russian champions Krasnodar in a permanent transfer worth €450,000. The 24-year-old left-sided attacker has signed a contract with Rostov running until 30 June 2029.
Olusegun arrives after a productive spell in Russian football, where he has accumulated more than 100 Premier Liga appearances and helped Krasnodar secure the league title in 2025. Comfortable on the left wing but playing off his right foot, he adds pace and direct running to Rostov’s attacking options.
The Ilorin-born forward first moved into Russian football in 2021 after spells in Denmark and Bulgaria, later making the step up from Krasnodar’s second team to the senior side. He joined Krasnodar permanently from Botev Plovdiv in 2022 and went on to feature regularly in league and cup competitions, scoring and assisting across domestic and relegation play-off campaigns.
Last season included a loan stint at Pari NN before Olusegun returned to Krasnodar at the end of that deal and subsequently completed his switch to Rostov. Across his time in Russia he has registered double figures for both goals and assists in the top flight, underlining his impact in the final third.
Olusegun’s move keeps him in the Russian Premier Liga, where he will now play his club football for Rostov under a contract running to 2029 following his transfer from Krasnodar for €450,000.
