Mohamed Salah agent denies knowing where forward will play next season amid Besiktas reports

Mohamed Salah’s agent has fuelled uncertainty over the Egyptian star’s next club by insisting he does not know where the forward will be playing next season, despite mounting reports of an agreement with Turkish side Besiktas.

Agent’s cryptic post deepens transfer mystery

Ramy Abbas, long-time representative of Salah, posted a pointed message on X that appeared to cast doubt on widespread claims the player had already committed to a move.

He wrote: “انا شخصيا لا اعرف اين سيلعب محمد (صلاح) في الموسم المقبل، ماذا يخبركم ذلك؟”
(“I personally do not know where Mohamed (Salah) will play next season, what does that tell you?”)

The comment followed a series of media reports stating that Salah had accepted a one-year deal with Besiktas, with an option for a further season.

Those reports claimed the 32-year-old had agreed a contract worth €10m per year, plus an additional €2m in performance-related bonuses.

Abbas’s message has been widely interpreted as a denial that any agreement with Besiktas is in place, or at least that nothing has yet been finalised.

Besiktas links questioned

The Istanbul club have been repeatedly named in Turkish and regional media as Salah’s likely next destination following the end of his time at Liverpool.

However, Abbas’s post suggests the situation remains open and that Salah’s next move is still undecided.

The agent’s wording – “what does that tell you?” – has been read by many fans as a clear signal that the stories of a done deal with Besiktas are premature or inaccurate.

Neither Salah nor Besiktas have issued an official statement confirming negotiations or an agreement.

Search for a seventh club

Salah is understood to be weighing up his options as he looks for the seventh club of his professional career.

The forward began at Egyptian side Al Mokawloon Al Arab (Arab Contractors) before moving to Europe with Basel in Switzerland.

He then joined Chelsea in the Premier League, had a loan spell at Fiorentina, and later established himself as a star at Roma in Serie A.

His most successful period has come at Liverpool, where he became one of the world’s leading forwards.

Liverpool legacy

Salah’s time at Anfield has been marked by prolific scoring and major honours.

He played for Liverpool over a nine-year spell from 2017 to 2026, winning multiple individual awards and contributing heavily to the club’s modern era of success.

During that period he helped Liverpool secure the Premier League title twice and the UEFA Champions League once, as well as featuring in several other domestic and European trophy wins.

The apparent end of his Liverpool chapter has made his next move one of the most keenly watched storylines of the current transfer window.

Future remains unresolved

For now, Abbas’s intervention has only intensified speculation rather than calmed it.

With the agent publicly stating he does not know which club Salah will represent next season, there appears to be no confirmed agreement in place, despite the detailed figures reported around a proposed Besiktas switch.

Until Salah or his next club make an official announcement, his future remains one of the biggest unanswered questions in world football.
