Peter Olayinka brace fires Slavia Prague to top the Czech league

Peter Olayinka was on target twice as Slavia Prague defeated Slovácko 2-0 to go top of the Czech league.

Olayinka netted a brace in the 12th and 73rd minute to wrap up an emphatic win for Slavia Prague on Sunday.

The Nigeria forward brace ended Slovácko goalkeeper Nguyen’s clean sheet as he conceded his first goals in 435 minutes.

Christos Zafeiris sent in a fantastic cross into the opponent box as Olayinka flew high to send in a header into the back of the net in the 12th minute.

Slavia Prague had series of chances to double their lead in the first half but were wasteful in front of goal.

A deflected striker from Olayinka in the 73rd minute condemned Slovácko to defeat. Václav Jurečka replaced Olayinka in the 83rd minute as they ran away with a massive win at the Fortuna Arena.

Olayinka will square up against Vyškov in the quarter-finals of the MOL Cup on the first of March 2023.

The Cervenobílí are top of the Czech First Leg with 50 points from 21 matches and leading second place Viktoria Plzeň with 12 points.
