NPFL: Akwa United ready to hit the ground running, assures Deji Ayeni

Akwa United manager, Deji Ayeni has assures that the club is ready to hit the ground running to have a good outing in the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Promise Keepers didn’t start the league on a good note as they lost their first game of the season at home to Bendel Insurance of Benin in Uyo.
Uyo based outfit sit in third place of the NPFL group A of the NPFL at the end of the first stanza and the former Sunshine Stars said the club can’t afford to be sloppy in their quest to achieve success this season.
“”We started badly but did well to recover from the setback. It’s a thing of joy to be among the best three in our group after the first stanza,” Ayeni told the club media.
“We are looking forward to the start of the second stanza and we can’t afford to be sloppy. It’s important to hit the ground running and fight for our objectives.”
Akwa United will face Shooting Stars on the 25th of March at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo when the league resumes.
The Promise Keepers seat third on the NPFL group A with 15 points and trail league leaders, Bendel Insurance by eight points.
