Organisers of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the Interim Management Committee have lifted the ban on Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) Media Officer, Tosin Omojola.
Omojola was banned from all NPFL-related activities for a period of 12 months for breaching the code of conduct for team officials through unguarded media comments capable of bringing the game to disrepute.
The media officer’s ban from the defunct LMC follows unguarded statement after the team’s 1-1 draw with Remo Stars in Ibadan on June 3, 2022.
In a letter signed by NPFL Head of Operation, Davidson Owumi dated March 4, 2023, the sanction on Omojola was lifted.
“Be informed that the sanction issued against Mr Tosin Omojola has been lifted, following his recent apology and appeal for leniency.” The letter read.
“Following his passionate apology, appeal for leniency, and promise of better conduct in the future, the ban is hereby lifted effective immediately on the condition that Mr Omojola will uphold the strictest standard of professionalism going forward.
“Note that any future breach of the NPFL framework and rules will result in more severe sanctions.”
The development means Omojola can now resume his role with 3SC and have access to NPFL-related activities.
