Niger Tornadoes Resume Pre-Season Training, Set Sights on NPFL Title and Continental Qualification

Niger Tornadoes Football Club has officially resumed preparations for the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, with players returning to training at the FUT Minna, Gidan Kwano Campus football pitch under the guidance of the club’s newly appointed technical crew.
Speaking after the team’s first training session, the Chairman of the club, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso (Danwadatan Nupe), urged the players, coaches and officials to uphold discipline, hard work and unity as they prepare for the new campaign.
Dr. Kuso revealed that the club has set ambitious objectives for the season, targeting either the NPFL title or a top-three finish to secure qualification for continental football. He emphasized that achieving those goals would depend on thorough preparation and unwavering commitment from everyone involved.
The Chairman also stressed the importance of fostering a healthy working relationship between the players and the coaching staff. He disclosed that the club’s management would maintain an open-door policy to encourage effective communication and strengthen cooperation among management, coaches and players.
Reaffirming his commitment to the club, Dr. Kuso assured the team that the welfare of players and all members of staff would remain a top priority under his administration.
On infrastructure, he announced that renovation work has commenced at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, expressing confidence that the facility will be completed and ready for use at least 10 days before the start of the 2026/2027 NPFL season.
