NWFL Premiership Week 10 Previews: Nasarawa host Robo as Edo battle Confluence

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership makes a return from a month-long general election break since February, with Nasarawa Amazons welcoming Robo Queens and Edo Queens tackling Confluence Queens.
With five matches to go, realities are now dawning on the top-flight clubs as some battle to qualify for the prestigious Super Six competition, others are in thick battle to avoid relegation at the end of the season.
At Asaba Township Stadium, Delta Queens will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the league as they welcome Heartland Queens.
Delta Queens won the first leg 2-0 in Owerri and will be looking to hold on to their two point lead at the group A summit.
Heartland Queens seated fifth in the NWFL Premiership group A is at a shaky position and will be hoping to get a good result in Asaba to keep their survival hopes alive.
In Abuja, Naija Ratels will face a cagey contest against Royal Queens of Warri in Abuja. A home win will put the FCT FA Cup champions in a pole position for the Super Six, while Royal Queens, who sit at the gate of the relegation, know a defeat will add more misery to their battle against the drop.
A late goal condemned Osun Babes to a 1-0 defeat at the University of Port-Harcourt in the first leg and the Osogbo based ladies will hope to keep themselves afloat with a win when they host to Rivers Angels.
At Snake Farm, Nasarawa Amazons will tackle Robo Queens in an epic battle between. Both sides played a barren draw in the first leg at Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere but they are now on same 13 points on the league table. A win for either side will be an extraordinary push for a place in the Super Six.
A return to Umuahia, a familiar territory will potentially give Abia Angels the edge despite loosing 1-0 in the first leg in Uyo to Ibom Angels. Ann Chiejine’s side will be banking on their influential forward Precious Obasi while Ibom Angels will hope their mid-season recruits revamp their ailing season.
Another high-profile match to watch in Lokoja, Edo Queens won the first leg by a whisker 4-2 in Benin, the second leg will offer both teams the ability to set their priorities right in their top three finish pursuit.
