Abubakar Arikya hails Nasarawa United players after Akwa United draw

Acting head coach of Nasarawa United, Abubakar Arikya is excited with the team’s draw following a 2-2 with Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

The Solid Miners forced the Promise Keepers to a second leg stalemate just weeks after losing 3-0 in the first leg at the New Jos stadium, Jos and interim manager is pleased by his players’ hard-fought display.

“I want to thank Almighty Allah for the result, my team performance today played very well and played to instructions. I give kudos to my players for that,” Arikya told media.

“It’s a motivation even though the beaten then wasn’t as if they played pass us but our players made errors that led to the goals. But when we were coming here, we said we should prepare very well to get our own win.”

Nasarawa United streaming in the relegation waters are placed ninth on the NPFL group A with nine points from 13 matches as they faces an herculean task of evading relegation.

The Solid Miners will clash with sixth placed Gombe in their next encounter on the 15th of April 2023.
