Asisat Oshoala ruled out of Barcelona’s clash with Atletico Madrid

Nigeria senior women’s national team forward, Asisat Oshoala has been ruled out of FC Barcelona’s next league encounter with Rasheedat Ajibade’s Atletico Madrid.
On Friday, the Spanish Champions confirmed this in a medical announcement, following a successful scan.
Oshoala picked up the knock on her left groin during international assignment with Super Falcons following a 3-0 thrashing of FIFA Women’s World Cup co-host, New Zealand last Tuesday.
“Asisat Oshoala has discomfort in the left groin. She is off against Atletico de Madrid and the situation remains pending medical examination,” the Catalan side wrote Tweeted on Friday.
The former Rivers Angels and FC Robo Queens player scored against Haiti as Nigeria earned a 2-1 win before last Tuesday’s 3-0 triumph over New Zealand.
Against New Zealand, she saw 75 minutes of action before Monday Gift replaced her. She has scored 13 goals with two assists in the league for Jonatan Giraldez’s side this season.
Oshoala is the second leading goal scorer in the league with three goals behind Levante UD’s Redondo Ferer.
