Brazilian midfielder, Matteus Cunha is optimistic his team will defeat Nigeria in their last group match to book a spot in the knockout phase of the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup.
The South American champions bounced back strongly in the second game by beating the Dominican Republic 6-0 after suffering a 3-2 defeat in the opening match.
The young Samba boys are the highest-scoring team in the group but sit second on the table behind the Flying Eagles.
However, a win against Nigeria will see them qualify for the next stage with a flying goal difference ahead of the Nigerians.
In an attempt to get past the group stage, Cunha believes that the Flying Eagles are beatable and they are going to do just that on Saturday.
“The thinking is positive. The group is happy and we are going to have a great training session to close the preparation and beat Nigeria and qualify in the first place, God willing,” he said during the press conference.
“I think it will be a great game. They will impose their game too, because they got two wins, but we are Brazil and we go in to always win.”
